ABOUT BASCOM K. BRADSHAW, DO, MPH
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and aerospace medicine specialist. I continue to be active in aerospace psychiatry and served as a psychiatry consultant in the selection of the NASA astronaut class of 2017.
Before working as a psychiatric hospitalist, I served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and physician with 25 years of military experience and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, where I served as theater consultant for U.S. Army combat & operational stress control. As a senior flight surgeon, I was recognized as U.S. Army Aerospace Medicine Specialist of the Year in 2007.
In addition to my work as a FAA HIMS psychiatrist, I have held various positions to include serving as a Chief Medical Officer of a 250-bed psychiatric hospital and Medical Director for inpatient psychiatry units. I have also served as an Associate Professor and Chair of Behavioral Medicine for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan, Alabama.
I am a Fellow in both the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists and American Osteopathic College of Occupational & Preventive Medicine.
